This exercise was for a videomapping job where I was tasked to animate a boa in a jungle environment.
I build the environment with Megascans assets + palm trees I found and optimized from the internet, and the boa was bought from the marketplace.
My original idea was to animate the boa like usual because it came with a rig but after seeing the actual bone structure and the amount of rework it needed I decided to change my animation idea and go the "smart" (easy?) way with curves.
It worked wonders except for the head that was squashing like crazy so I separated the head from the body and then the tongue. I used a curve modifier on the body and a follow constraint on the head (who was parented to a sphere for direction). Then I animated the tongue with shape keys.
